West Valley rallies in support of Wallace Bridge center
Bag piper leads rally held in Portland on Earth Day
By Meredith Lawrence Correspondent, The Sun
Earth Day was Monday and approximately 100 Sheridan and Willamina residents found it to be a prime opportunity to attend a rally held in Portland to raise support for the proposed Wallace Bridge Equestrian Center.
The center would be built by J.W. Millegan near the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 22. Part of the land for the proposed center is on a wetland and has an easement on it, which restricts what it can be used for.
The rally, which took place near Portland’s Lloyd Center, was an attempt to garner support for the easement to be lifted.
