Public Notices PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE CITY OF WILLAMINA PROPOSED RATE INCREASE – RECOLOGY WESTERN OREGON The Willamina City Council will hold a public hearing on June 13, 2013, at 7:00 pm, at the Willamina City Hall, 411 NE C Street in Willamina. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain citizen comments on a proposed rate increase requested by the City’s Solid Waste Collection Franchisee, Recology Western Oregon (formerly known as WOW). The increase is expected to be less than 2% and would become effective July 1, 2013. Interested persons are encouraged to attend the meeting or provide written comments. Copies of the proposed rate schedule will be available at City Hall during normal business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, weekdays (closed on Wednesday), on or after June 1, 2013. A copy will also be posted at the Willamina City Library, 382 NE C Street, and the US Post Office, 360 SW Maple Street. PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE CITY OF WILLAMINA PROPOSED WATER & SEWER RATE INCREASES The Willamina City Council will hold a public hearing on June 13, 2013, at 7:15 pm, at the Willamina City Hall, 411 NE C Street in Willamina. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain citizen comments on a proposed 5% increase in water rates and a 3% increase in sewer rates which would become effective with the June 16-July 15, 2013, billing cycle. The proposal would increase the base rate for water for a residential customer by $1.80 per month and sewer by $1.60 per month for a total increase of $3.40. Base rates for eligible seniors would increase by $1.50 per month for water and $1.40 for sewer for a total increase of $2.90. The rate increases are necessary to meet the operating costs of these utilities and to make required payments on outstanding loans for previous system improvements. Interested persons are encouraged to attend the meeting. Copies of the proposed rate schedule are available at City Hall during normal business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, weekdays (closed Wednesday).
