Lady Bulldogs amongst the brightest teams

The Willamina High School Lady Bulldogs’ softball team finished ninth on the Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State top 10 list.

With a 3.53 cumulative grade point average, the team was the only West Valley team to make a top 10 list in any sport or activity.

The Dairy Farmers recognize the top teams in baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track and field, band, choir, orchestra and speech.

Willamina’s baseball team, with a 3.36 GPA was 12th on the list. Sheridan’s softball team was 14th on the list with a 3.38. In boys’ track, both Sheridan and Willamina made it on the 3.0 or better list with a 3.05 and 3.01 respectively. In girls’ track, Willamina had a 3.48 and Sheridan a 3.33.

Nyssa’s boys’ tennis team, with a 3.98, had the best GPA in the state this spring.
