Let’s save our local businesses

The Sun and the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to fight to save our Sheridan businesses.

The recession has forced too many of our local businesses to close their doors. It’s time to fight back.

To help build a stronger community, we are inviting you to join the grassroots effort to do what we can to support our local businesses and business people.

We’d like to rally the troops, ask struggling local businesses specific ways we can help them through the rough economy and then volunteer to fulfill their needs. Maybe they need help hanging flyers on door knobs or setting up for a sidewalk sale. Perhaps the shopkeeper needs an extra hand cleaning out old inventory or picking up supplies. How can we help your business survive?

Business people and business-friendly folks are invited Thursday, Aug. 12 to a brainstorming session at 7 p.m. at Sheridan Pizza Co. Come with your ideas.

We’re not looking for a government bailout, we’re looking for ways WE can help our business community survive.

All ideas will be considered.
