Will. council to adopt budget

The Willamina City Council will hold a special meeting on June 28 to adopt the 2012-13 budget and impose taxes.

Also included on the agenda for the evening is a presentation from J.W. Millegan asking for the city’s support for his plans to build an international equestrian facility near Wallace Bridge and a request from the city for authorization to fill a vacant position at city hall.

The city is asking the council’s approval to recruit a part-time office staff member to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Shawn Kennedy. The city would like to advertise the position and post a closing date of July 20 with plans to hire an office specialist later this summer.

Kennedy was chosen from a field of 36 applicants for the part-time position. She was hired last fall.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. It will be held at City Hall, 411 N.E. C St.
